    ELECTION NOTICE

    Marshfield R-1 School District Board of Education Filing Period

    Candidates interested in running for the Marshfield R-1 School District Board of Education may file for candidacy for the April 8, 2025 election. Filing begins on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at 8:00 a.m. and ends on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, at 5:00 p.m., in accordance with state law.

    Location and Filing Hours:
    Filings will be accepted in the Superintendent’s Office, located at 170 State Hwy DD, Marshfield, MO, during regular business hours, Monday through Friday, with the following exceptions:

    • December 10, 2024: 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

    • December 24-25, 2024: Office closed; no filings accepted.

    • December 31, 2024: 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

    Additional Notes:

    • Candidates filing on the first day (December 10, 2024) will appear on the ballot in the order of their filing.

    • In the event of inclement weather, please call 417-859-2120 (option 0) to confirm office availability.

    Eligibility Requirements:
    At the time of filing, candidates must complete and sign a Declaration of Candidacy form affirming their eligibility to hold office in accordance with Missouri law:

    1. Must be a citizen of the United States.

    2. Must be a resident taxpayer of the district.

    3. Must have resided within the district for at least one year immediately preceding the election.

    4. Must be at least 24 years of age.

    5. Must not be delinquent in state income, personal property, or real property taxes on their residence (corporate officers of a fee office must ensure the office is not delinquent on state taxes).

    6. Must not have been found guilty of or pled guilty to a felony under federal law, Missouri law, or the equivalent in another state.

    7. Must not be a registered sex offender.

    8. Must comply with all Missouri Ethics Commission requirements.

    Election Information:
    Two members will be elected to serve three-year terms.
