School Resource Officers Omar Barron and Al Berry

    Greetings,

I’m Al Berry, and I hope everyone has enjoyed a safe and relaxing summer. I trust you’ve had quality time with family and friends, recharging for the upcoming school year. With renewed enthusiasm, I’m excited to continue serving as your School Resource Officer (SRO). I’ve been a law enforcement officer for over 39 years and currently serve with the Webster County Sheriff's Office.

During my career, I’ve primarily worked as a traffic officer and criminal investigator. My extensive training includes Basic Crisis Intervention, Crimes Against Children, Interdiction for the Protection of Children, and School Resource Officer training. I’ve also completed several courses in Criminal and Drug Investigation and have handled numerous cases involving crimes against individuals, property, and financial crimes.

I’m looking forward to interacting with your students and helping maintain a safe learning environment for both students and staff. As we embark on this new school year, I am eager to assist with any challenges that may arise and to provide education on law enforcement and school safety.

As your SRO, I am committed to:

❖ Maintaining a visible presence within the school community to help deter criminal activity and student misconduct.
❖ Attending and participating in school functions.
❖ Building strong working relationships with school staff, students, and parent groups.
❖ Engaging with students in the classroom and around the school.
❖ Promoting the law enforcement profession and serving as a positive role model for students.
❖ Collaborating with staff to ensure a safe and secure learning environment.
❖ Advocating for faculty in emergency response training.

Please feel free to contact me with any concerns or questions. You can reach me by email at al.berry@mjays.us or by phone at (417) 943-0817.

Let’s work together to ensure the safety of all, and let’s make this a great school year.

    Sincerely,
    Al Berry
