Assessment Principles

This document, produced by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, outlines high-quality summative assessment principles for ELA/Literacy and Mathematics. These principles are aligned with college- and career-readiness standards, which, when properly implemented, help prepare students for success after graduation.

DESE MAP Information for Parents

This resource provides parents with basic information about the MAP (Missouri Assessment Program) assessments for students in grades 3–8. It also includes nine tips for parents that address the question, “How can I help my child perform well on the MAP assessments?”
