MJHS 25-26

Truman Reader Awards

Each year, our Marshfield Junior High library challenges students to dive into the Missouri state Mark Twain Readers Award books—and our Blue Jays really showed up this year!

We had 19 students read at least four of the nominated titles, and five students went above and beyond by reading all 12 books. What an accomplishment!

To celebrate, we hosted a fun ice cream party where students voted on their favorites. Nic Blake and the Remarkables by Angie Thomas was the clear winner.

We are so proud of the time, effort, and love of reading our MJHS students have shown this year!

Jr. High Student Council Celebrating the Season

Through song and service, our Jr. High Student Council shared the spirit of the season by caroling at local nursing homes. These small moments of connection made a big impact for both our students and our community.

History Club

Our History Club had a fantastic day exploring the past! Students visited Smallin Civil War Cave, where they learned about the cave’s role in local history and enjoyed an up-close look at this incredible natural landmark. Of course, there was also time to raid the gift shop for a few treasures!

Afterward, the group made a stop at Braum’s to enjoy some well-earned ice cream before heading to the Springfield History Museum for their final tour of the day.

It was a memorable trip full of learning, laughter, and lots of stories from our region’s history.

Thank you!

Thank You, Hope Church of the Nazarene!  We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to Hope Church of the Nazarene for their generous donation of Powerade to our Marshfield Junior High athletes! Your support means so much, and we are grateful for partners who invest in the health and success of our students. We appreciate you!
As a fun bonus, some of our athletes helped unload the Powerade during Red Ribbon Spirit Week—and on this particular day, everyone was wearing their shirts backwards to “turn our backs on drugs!” A perfect reminder of teamwork, positive choices, and community spirit.

Congrats Mrs. Messick

Congratulations to Mrs. Messick! She was awarded a $500 grant from Arvest Bank to purchase a new 3D printer for her Project Lead the Way (PLTW) classroom! We can’t wait to see the amazing creations her students will bring to life with this new technology.

Serving with Heart

Mrs. Lemons' students rolled up their sleeves to serve at Wheel Fed last week! This program, a partnership between Ozarks Food Harvest and Kingdom Church, helps provide food for families in our community. We are so proud of their hard work and the difference they’re making!

Memorial park

On September 11, our sixth grade students visited Memorial Park in Marshfield to take part in an interactive tribute. This meaningful experience gave them the chance to reflect, learn, and honor the significance of the day in a hands-on way.
