The Marshfield R-I School District implements the Emerging Language & Literacy Curriculum. The Emerging Language & Literacy Curriculum (ELLC) prepares preschoolers for success in kindergarten and gives them a strong foundation in oral language and literacy with this scientifically based curriculum. This program not only addresses all developmental domains with theme-based units, children’s literature, multi sensory activities, scaffolded instruction and parental involvement but also creates an engaging environment with activity and play-based learning.

Preschool Screening Information
We are thankful for the opportunity to provide you with additional information about your child's development through our screening process. To be eligible for one of our free Early Education programs, your child must be three or four years old on or before July 31, 2021, reside within the boundaries of Marshfield R-1 Schools and have a complete developmental screening. This screening is the first step to see if a child would qualify for any preschool services offered by Columbia Public Schools. Screening is a developmental check-up, similar to the physical check-up a child has with a doctor. The purpose is to assure that each child is developing as expected for their age level. Screening checks key areas of development such as:
Speech and language
Vision and hearing
We have completed our screenings for the spring semester and will resume preschool screenings by appointment only throught the Parents as Teachers program. Currently, we have a waiting list for preschool, we work off of the list until March 1st. Once the screening form in the link below is completed, you will be contacted by a member of our team to schedule an appointment that will complete the screening process. We look forward to supporting your family!
